Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cost extra to customize a browband?

If you like a design we’ve added to our inventory, but need a different size there is no extra charge.  If you would like a completely custom browband then pricing will be based on the elements in the design you’ve chosen. See our custom order page for pricing and other details.

What should I expect when I request a custom order?

Once we receive your request we’ll get back to you as soon as possible to find out what you’ve got in mind for bead and leather colors.  We always welcome photos of the horse to help us design something that will fit your horse’s look.  Once we know what you’d like we will contact you with photos of 3 options that include your requested colors, style, etc.  You then pick the beading you like best and we’ll create the browband. Once completed we’ll send you an email with final photos for approval before providing the invoice for the product.  When the payment is received we’ll ship your item and send tracking information to you.

How long does a custom order take?

Average time for a custom order is roughly 2 weeks.  If you have an upcoming event let us know and we’ll do our best to make sure you have your order completed in time.

Where do you get your leather from?

Although we’re not going to say names here we can share that all our leather comes from three reputable sources.  We have specially chosen suppliers in Denmark, the United Kingdom, and the United States.  Each offer high quality products with slightly different styles, allowing us to offer awesome browbands to you!

I have a fear of my browband breaking. How do you keep the beads from flying everywhere?

Although we can’t guarantee that beads won’t go flying we can tell you that as riders ourselves we understand this fear! To minimize the flying bead theory we attach our beads twice, with 2 types of anchors.  Each strand of beads are strung on a high test line to prevent breakage. Once secured we hand stitch each half of the bead string to the leather, using separate threads for each half.  By using this style we minimize the movement of beads should you encounter such a moment.

How do I care for my Arena Elegance Product?

We recommend using a soft cloth (or a piece of an old, clean polo wrap) and gently wipe the beading.  A damp cloth works great for gently removing dirt build up.  For the leather simply clean and condition like you would any of your bridle work.

Do you attend any trade shows or events?

Currently you can visit us at The Midwest Horse Fair. Have an event that you’d like us to attend? Let us know!

Do you give discounts for group orders?

We certainly do! If you are looking to order 3 or more matching items we’ll be happy to give a discount.  Please contact us for pricing that will be special for your group!

Are there any restrictions I should know about for Competition?

We’ve checked the Association rules for many of the disciplines and here’s the 411 on showing with your new Arena Elegance Browband:  Currently the USEF does not have a governing rule over the use of non-traditional browbands, so unless this has been updated since we completed our research you’re good there.  The USHJA also has not made a ruling against the use of non-traditional browbands, however in line with the other USHJA preferences we suggest sticking with the more natural looks of greens, browns, and golds for all Hunter competitors.  Jumper riders have no real restriction in color, but we suggest making sure the combinations compliment you and your horse.   For our Dressage riders, USDF has stated in the 2013 Dressage Equipment Booklet that “At any level of competition, a browband may be multicolored and may be decorated with metal, beads, gemstones and crystals.”  The AQHA 2016 rulebook did not state any restrictions that we could find, but we’re keeping our eyes open for new rulings.  We would encourage the English AQHA riders to follow the same guidelines as the USHJA Hunter riders, while the Western riders can add a little more bling to their performance.  The 4-H world has asked competitors to stick with traditional style, so we suggest using a little fun bling when schooling and save the plain look for the showring. As we all know when it comes to competition the final say is from the judge, so although we’ve done the research on the association rulings we can’t guarantee that all judges will agree.  Make sure you pick the best browband to fit your horse and discipline and we’re sure you’ll be successful with Arena Elegance!

What if I need Draft size or larger?

If you need a size that’s not listed for the design you like email us and we’ll be happy to talk with our leather suppliers to get the size specially made.  Depending on the size additional fees may apply – don’t worry, we’ll get your approval before placing the leather order.  We’ve made browbands up to 19″!!
